Staff pharmacists at Hillcrest Hospital Claremore compound, fill and dispense pharmaceutical preparations in the pharmacy within the guidelines set forth by the state of Oklahoma and the Federal Government. Pharmacists work under the Oklahoma general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy and supervise and instruct pharmacy technicians. They also participate in performance improvement activities of the department.

Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
\nThe Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications in the hospital according to the physician’s patient care plan, established policies, and legal requirements.
\n\n
The successful candidate will be able to:
\n- \n
- Interpret and screen physician’s orders for appropriate dosage, route of administration, and contraindications \n
- Detect and report suspected adverse drug reactions accurately and promptly \n
- Prepare IV medications and TPN solutions; demonstrate knowledge of infusion pumps and the IV monitoring system \n
- Maintain accurate and precise documentation, particularly regarding the dispensing of narcotics and controlled substances \n
- Provide accurate, adequate, and timely drug information to the hospital’s professional staff \n
- Lend professional guidance and expertise to Pharmacy Interns and Residents; provide guidance and oversight to Pharmacy Technicians \n
Qualifications
